FIRST CHURCH THE GOOD NEWS
Our new online publication of The Good News not only is more current and immediately accessible, but allows us to be better stewards of our natural resources, human hours of preparation and production, and financial cost of printing and mailing.
Since we want to provide current and immediately accessible news, our News page will be updated regularly, instead of using the previous “monthly edition” paper mailed model. If you have news you’d like included, please contact the church office.
Please enjoy our new version of The Good News and watch for new and exciting things that will be coming soon!

THE FUTURE AT FIRST CONGREGATIONAL GATHERING

In an effort to provide in-person communication with members of our congregation, the Future Planning Committee will host a gathering for the congregation on Sunday, August 14 at 10 a.m. in Asbury Hall. Members of the committee will make brief reports and there will be a time for questions and answers. We anticipate this meeting will last about 40 minutes.
If you have access to Zoom, you may join us with the Zoom ID 786 364 7847.
If you are unable to join us in person or via Zoom, please send us a request for the meeting recording.
Blessings,
Future Planning Committee
Youth Choir is Coming!

Looking for a way to share your talents with our church? Come check out our First Youth Choir! Open to all youth grades 6-12, we perform in worship about once per month. We rehearse Sundays 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. in Room 106, starting August 14. For more information contact Dr. Elizabeth Leyva at elizabeth@firstchurch.church. No musical experience is necessary, just a willingness to make a joyful noise to the Lord!
SING with the Summer Choir

If you would like to sing with the Chancel Choir, but cannot commit to the weekly Wednesday night rehearsal schedule, here is your chance!
From now through August 21, we will hold morning Summer Choir rehearsals nearly every Sunday from 10:10 to 10:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary. During this time, we will put together anthems that are simple and straight forward – easy enough to sing at the 11 a.m., Worship Service that same day!
In addition to the Sunday morning rehearsals, we will come together for one final Wednesday night rehearsal on August 3 at 7 p.m. The supplemental rehearsal will give us a chance to look at the pieces for the coming Sundays. Even if you cannot make this Wednesday night rehearsal, you are encouraged to participate in Summer Choir!
For more information, please contact Joshua Elder.
