The United Blood Services Mobile Unit will be in our north parking lot all morning on Sunday, April 22. Giving blood is a healthy thing for you to do three times a year. Please make your reserved appointment at the clipboard on the brick patio this Sunday, April 15. Our community thanks all donors and so does our church.
Little Kids Choir
First Church Cherub Choir is for ages 3-5 and is open to all children in our community. We rehearse every Thursday afternoon from 2:30 – 3 p.m. in room 106 and sing in worship services from time to time. Our 30-minute rehearsals are fast-paced, engaging and fun for young singers. Come join us as we praise God using the gift of music! You can fill out a sign-up form in the church office or just bring your child to rehearsal. Contact Elizabeth Leyva for more information.
Creative Arts Camp
For the past five summers, First Church has opened its doors for a week-long Creative Arts Camp. This fun and engaging experience has created endless opportunities for growth and fellowship, not only for the children of our congregation but also within the community. In fact, a large percentage of our attendees are kids from the neighborhood who have attended faithfully every summer since the camp began. We’re so excited to be able to announce our 6th Annual Creative Arts Camp will take place the week of Monday, July 30 to Friday, August 3! The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to any child who has completed kindergarten to those entering 7th grade. All week, the campers take classes in everything from painting and T-shirt design to singing and cooking. We also provide a “Mini-Camp” for children aged 3 – 5 years old. Registration for Creative Arts Camp will be available online at firstchurch.church beginning Monday, May 7. Before and after care is also available for an additional fee. Our camp is always a great way for kids to wrap up their summer and is incredibly popular, so do not delay in getting your little artists, musicians, and tiny dancers registered.
Knitting, Sewing, Crocheting
Beginning or advanced, you are invited to participate in the fabric ministries taking place at First Church. We have knitters making hats for children at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and baby blankets for little ones being baptized here. Those who crochet make sitting mats for the children at our Weekday School. We also have sewers making infant clothes, school bags, baby blankets and prayer quilts for our ministries too. If you are interested in any of these groups, please contact Robin Spencer. Come and share. Come and learn.
