S.W.A.G. Meets on Wednesdays
The Second Wednesday Adult Group meets on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. in Asbury Hall. There is always a program followed by a catered lunch. This is perfect for those of you who can get away for lunch, those looking for something to do, and those who are retired. Hope you will join us. If you have any questions, please contact Robin Spencer.
Border Mission Ministry
This year marks our 13th year of friendship and collaboration with the Mexican Methodist churches in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico. It’s been a long and special relationship. We are once again (thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Foundation) recruiting a team to go to San Luis to help build a home for a deserving family. Every trip is a bit different, but they are all satisfying. No particular construction skills are necessary but bring a willing heart and an open mind. We will leave Wednesday, April 11 and return on Sunday, April 15. Cost is dependent on how many participants there are, but generally do not exceed $150 per person. We’re not just building a house; we’re changing a family’s future. Please contact Anne Bettis for more information.
Little Kids Choir
First Church Cherub Choir is for ages 3-5 and is open to all children in our community. We rehearse every Thursday afternoon from 2:30 – 3 p.m. in room 106 and sing in worship services from time to time. Our 30-minute rehearsals are fast-paced, engaging and fun for young singers. Come join us as we praise God using the gift of music! You can fill out a sign-up form in the church office or just bring your child to rehearsal. Contact Elizabeth Leyva for more information.
Applications for the First United Methodist Foundation scholarships are available in the church office or may be printed online from our website. Completed applications must be returned to the church office on or before 4 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018. Scholarships will be awarded in May.
